ok, this is my first ever LJ post.

let me preface my last 10 days with a little of my own personal history. when i was around 3 years old i got a penny stick in my throat. the story starts with me confusing chocolate coins with real coins, you know the ones that are wrapped to look like pirate treasure. so anyway i stick my hand in what i believed were fake chocoalte coins. wrong! i picked up legitimate coinage and threw a handful in my mouth. a few minutes later i realized the mistake i made and explained it to my parents. so we go to the hospital and i find that there is a penny stuck in my throat but it's not obstructing my airway so i'm ok, ok as anyone with something stuck in their throat could be. So anyway i get the penny removed and i'm sent home.

this brings me back to about 10 days ago. i started feeling extremely fatigued not to mention constant sneezing, coughing, congestion, headaches, and lack of appetite. so i get the meds i need and here comes the tricky part. now i don't know if i'm traumatized or just a baby but i dont have the ability to swallow pills. so i stop by quick check and pick up a pill crusher so i can take my meds. the pill crusher works perfectly for me. the pills taste like shit but i have no choice so i take my meds for a week and i start feeling better. so now i'm starting to kick the ass of this cold/flu like illness. now i'm starting to regain strength and display less symptoms. i feel good and finally free of being in bed while i'm not in class.

so lets go to last night. last night i feel great. i'm able to run around with my ten year old brother and even have a WWE (formerly WWF) style wrestling match with him. i go to sleep looking forward to today. so today i awake at 5:23, yes 5:23 exactly. why you ask? it's because i have a tremendous pain on the right side of my head. i get up to go to the bathroom and i instantly become dizzy and light headed. i feel an incredible pain in my ear and this nonstoping ringing. so i go to the bathroom and figure its like when your on an airplane and your ears are popping. wrong! i tried poping my ears to no avail. i figured going back to sleep could maybe allow the situation to resolve itself. i couldnt get back to sleep. the pain was intense. at this point i hear my dad call upstairs to see if i'm ok because he's a light sleeper and knows that i will wake up early enough to only shower and drive to school. i only heard him with my left ear. i was deaf in my right ear. i start panicking right away and attempt to "pop" my ears again. same result. so i tell my dad and he asks if i wanna go to the hospital. being a stubborn bastard i say no and hope that taking no action will allow this situation to resolve itself. so now it's 9am and i'm calling my doctor to get an emergency appointment to get my ear checked out. my appointment is scheduled for 1015. so by the time i've been asked what wrong by a doctor its been 5 hours of pain.

so my doctor tells me i have fluid stuck in my ear blocked by ear wax which i caused to exist in my ear canal because of improper use of a cotton swab. so i pick up my meds which consist of antibiotics in the form of pills (the soft liquidy kind that can't be crushed and have to be swallowed), calratin for congestion relief, and ear drops. now to describe to you how i was able to swallow pills for the first time without crushing them. i tried 5 or 6 times with water. nothing. i tired sticking it in a piece of cut banana so i could swallow the ood and the pill. nothing. i'm at the end of my rope because i have to take these yet its becoming more impossible every second. so i borrow a technique i saw my ather apply to my dog when he was sick. imagine me stick a pill in my mouth, forcing my mouth shut, leaning my head back, and rubbing my throat to relax it enough to swallow the pill. finally the pill goes down after 5+ minutes of rubbiing. it's now like 9pm and i'm begining to hear things with my right ear, albeit very slighty and with an echoing sound effect to it. i still have that ridiculous ringing accompanied by a headache. so i hope within a few days i regain my hearing and my health otherwise i have a serious problem.

so that was my 1st post. hopefully the next time i post, if i do, i'll have fully functional ears and a stable health condition.
i dont care to spellcheck or revise anything so good luck with reading this.
